Our Therapy

Depression & Anxiety

Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.

Trauma & PTSD

Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.

ADHD

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common mental disorders affecting children. ADHD also affects many adults. Symptoms of ADHD include inattention (not being able to keep focus), hyperactivity (excess movement that is not fitting to the setting) and impulsivity (hasty acts that occur in the moment without thought).

Individual, Family, & Couples Counseling

Starting Point therapists are trained in a range of psychotherapy theoretical orientations and techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and EMDR. First, our therapists focus on developing a strong therapeutic rapport with the patient. Then, effective clinical theory and techniques are skillfully applied to obtain the desired changes. Are you interested in learning more about what services we provide or have questions about what makes us unique?  If you are ready to begin making the changes you would like to see in your life contact us for an appointment..

Telehealth Services

Our teletherapy service is provided by our same providers that provide in-person services, and in that way we maintain our high standards of offering a premium service. Our teletherapy platform is secure and HIPAA-compliant. Our office staff is available to help patients get acquainted with the technology, and to trouble-shoot any issues before the first session, and we continue to provide technical support as sessions continue over time. In most cases, teletherapy is reimbursed by insurance companies just as in-person sessions are. A

EMDR Trained

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), as with most therapy approaches, focuses on the individual’s present concerns. However, rather than just talking about it, EMDR uses eye movements and other forms of stimulation to activate the brain’s ability to resolve these concerns. As a result, we feel better, not just think we are better!

Trauma Focused--Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

As its name implies is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy that addresses the specific emotional and mental health needs of children, adolescents, adult survivors, and families who are struggling to overcome the destructive effects of early trauma. Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) is especially sensitive to the unique problems of youth with post-traumatic stress and mood disorders resulting from abuse, violence, or grief. Because the client is usually a child, TF-CBT often brings non-offending parents or other caregivers into treatment and incorporates principles of family therapy.

Here for you.
